A date

A few weeks into being married and I have to say it really is the best feeling in the whole world! Everyone keeps asking me if it feels different, to which I answer “yes and no”. Since we lived together for about a year before the wedding everyday life is pretty much the same (with the exception of having some really amazing new kitchen gadgets to cook with!)

We got married because we have a love that was time to commit to marriage, what does feel different is the new responsibility of having and building a marriage that will maintain that love.

Getting married comes with getting a lot of advice and I have tried to take in every little tidbit that comes my way. So far the two pieces of advice that have had the most impact is first, marriage is the hardest work you will ever do and it is SO worth it. The second  reoccurring theme is to never stop dating. Sounds so simple, but I am understanding that over time it is these little things that can really add up to make all the difference.

Last weekend we had a simple Sunday afternoon date at Carters Mountain Orchard. Nothing fancy, just a quick yet memorable trip  up to the mountain to enjoy the view on a most beautiful fall day.

Any great marriage advice you have? Please share!
